HOMESTAY
Finding the right accommodation is very important for the success of your studies. Homestay accommodation can be arranged with Mahurangi Technical Institute (MTI) registered homestay providers. It is the recommended first accommodation option for all international students.
Homestay is the best way to experience total immersion English and to learn about New Zealand life and culture. All homestay providers are carefully selected for their warm, welcoming attitudes and comfortable homes. If you are choosing this option be aware that it might be very different from living with your own family. You may be expected to help with some of the household duties. There will also be house rules to follow. We will match a family as close as possible to what you require and what the family is looking for.
You can expect to:
- Have your own furnished room
- Improve your English and enrich your cultural experiences
- To pay between $200.00 and $300.00 per week
- Meals provided
- Be included in family outings and excursions
Each homestay provider offers a different experience for students, so it is important that we have at least four weeks notice so we can find the homestay that is right for you.

Self contained 2 bedroom unit just 5 minutes walk for Tech. Share room, amenities and cleaning. $150.00 per person weekly.

The Oaks Accommodation and Backpackers
The Oaks is located a handy seven minute walk from Tech. Single and double rooms are available with full cooking facilities, a communal kitchen and lounge areas. Wireless internet available on site plus only a ten minute walk to the Warkworth town centre.
Rates: Single $35.00 per night - one person
$30.00 if more than seven nights

Affordable Accommodation – Central Warkworth and Matakana

Situated within walking distance from MTI, Warkworth Lodge has several different accommodation options available.
Flashpacker Rooms - $40.00 - $50.00 per night with a single bed, shared bathroom facilities and self catering.
Villa Rooms - $60.00 per night per person with queen bed and ensuite.

Situated a four minute minute drive North of Warkworth and offers several options for accommodation.
$30.00 per night per person. Short and long term caravan and bunk house, to suit all types of accommodation needs.
