Practical Training

Practical work experience is encouraged to be undertaken during the course term breaks. This prepares students for the tourism industry using hands-on training not achievable through text books. Field trips are also undertaken at various times during the course and will require some time away from home.

On successful completion of this course you will receive the:

  • National Certificate in Tourism & Travel- Core Skills (Level 3).

  • Mahurangi Technical Institute Certificate in Tourism with Hospitality.

  • Sale of Liquor Act Certificate

  • Basic First Aid Certificate.

40 weeks (including 6 weeks (3x2) term holidays)

Maximum of 20.
Entry Requirement:
OPEN, however those with NCEA Level 1 are preferred.  All applicants will be required to attend an interview.
