Hands-on practical experience
forms a large part of the course. Candidates will extinguish fires
wearing breathing apparatus in the fire fighting unit, practice
life-raft drills at sea, and operate radar in restricted visiblity
onboard the Tech's training vessel 'Cab Sav'. On the 5 days sail
training candidates will practice night sailing, man overboard
exercises and watch-keeping skills.
