RYA Day Skipper Practical - Motor

The RYA Dayskipper Motor is a four day course (live a board) giving the students an introduction into skippering a small motor vessel in familiar waters by day. The course includes both practical boat handling and day and night navigational exercises. The award of the Day Skipper certificate is based on your skills throughout the week and is made by the instructor on board. Students also undertake night pilotage exercises.

The successful candidate will receive:

RYA/CBES Day Skipper Certificate (Motor)

Course duration is four days.

Class Size:

Class sizes are kept at a level to maintain a 5:1 student/instructor ratio.

 

Entry Requirement:

Restricted to those 18 years and over. Candidates should have the minimum of two days at sea and a basic knowledge of navigation and seamanship, or ideally hold a CBES Boatmaster certificate or RYA Dayskipper Shorebased theory certificate.

Domestic Students (NZ and Australian citizens):$2,300.00 including GST

Accreditation:

This course is accredited with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) of Southampton, UK who will issue the Certificate of Competency and by Coastguard Boating Education.
