This Certificate of Competency allows the holder to skipper yachts up to 24m in length and to be Chief Mate on vessels of up to 500 tonnes within 60 miles of a safe haven overseas. It consists of a seven day classroom session, an intensive four day practical period aboard a motorboat (plus a one day practical exam), together with the STCW Basic Training course.

- MNZ Certificate of STCW Basic Training
- Maritime Restricted (Radio) Operator's Certificate
- RYA/MCA Coastal Skipper/Power Endorsement Certificate of Competency. Issued to successful candidates by the RYA of Southampton, UK.

Accreditation:This course is accredited with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) of Southampton, UK who will issue the Certificate of Competency. Please note that as the duration of the motorcruising practical is four days, a RYA Course Completion Certificate cannot be issued. Only courses with a practical component of five or more days duration can be issued such a certificate. |
