 Established
in 1989, Mahurangi Technical Institute has evolved to become Rodney's largest Private Training
Establishment, and was awarded the School of the Year 2005 by the
Coastguard on behalf of the Royal Yachting Association. Training is conducted
in the popular, boutique town of Warkworth and in the satellite campus in
Opua, Bay of Islands.
Warkworth is on the doorstep of
Auckland, yet lies just far enough away to allow one to relax and
unwind. This busy town offers the best in up-market shopping, cafes
and bars, with surf and sandy beaches only minutes away. The port of
Opua lies in the Bay of Islands, one of the most beautiful and
historically significant areas in New Zealand.
