Welcome to Mahurangi Technical Institute Warkworth

Established in 1989, Mahurangi Technical Institute has evolved to become Rodney's largest Private Training Establishment. Recipient of the 'School of the Year' award from the NZ Coastguard made on behalf of the Royal Yachting Association, we pride ourselves on being big enough to matter, but small enough to care. Training is conducted in the popular, boutique town of Warkworth and in the satellite campus in Opua, Bay of Islands.

Warkworth is on the doorstep of Auckland, yet lies just far enough away to allow one to relax and unwind.

This busy town offers the best in up-market shopping, cafes and bars, with surf and sandy beaches only minutes away. The port of Opua lies in the Bay of Islands, one of the most beautiful and historically significant areas in New Zealand.

Our friendly, approachable tutors come from a mix of professional and industry experience, bringing you up to date knowledge from their various specialty subjects.
